A restaurant family that finally built a room.
Bon Appetit Grill has been cooking Haitian and Caribbean food for Orlando across three locations. For years people asked the same question at the counter: can you cater my party, and is there somewhere we could hold it? The Edgewater Room is the answer to the second half.
The idea
Two businesses, one address.
The Edgewater Drive location has a takeout counter at the front and, behind a sliding barn door, a room that used to be a dining room. We stopped trying to make it both things at once.
The front is a Haitian and Caribbean takeout counter with a handful of seats. The back is The Edgewater Room, a private event space with its own entrance, its own hours and its own name. What connects them is a full commercial kitchen that neither has to share with anybody else.
That is the whole thesis. Event venues do not have kitchens. Restaurants do not have event rooms. We have both, twenty feet apart.
The room
Bright white, gray drape, black and brass.
A white coffered ceiling, a full wall of heavy pleated drape in soft gray, a statement chandelier and a bar fronted in black and brass. White walls, so your colours are the colours in the room rather than fighting somebody else's.
There is a low stage that comes out when you need a band, a DJ or a toast, and goes away when you would rather have the floor. Two TV screens for slideshows or a corporate deck. Free parking directly outside, step-free access throughout and accessible restrooms.

How we work
One phone call instead of six.
Planning an event usually means assembling a committee of strangers: a venue, a caterer, a bartender, a DJ, a decorator, a photographer, and somebody to clean up. Each one has a deposit, a contract and an opinion about load-in times.
You can still do it that way here. Book Gold, bring your own everyone, and we will stay out of the way. Plenty of people prefer that and we priced the package for it honestly.
But if you would rather make one call, we can put the whole night together: food from our kitchen, the bar under our licence, DJ, decor, photography, security, valet, cake. One invoice, one point of contact, one person to hold accountable.
And if you want a vendor we do not have, bring them. We have never charged an outside vendor fee and we are not going to start.
