Questions

Everything people ask before they book.

If something is not here, call us. We would rather answer a hard question now than have you find out at the contract.

Booking and payment

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancel more than 72 hours out and everything except the $500 retainer is returned. Inside 72 hours, payments already made are held as credit toward a new date within twelve months.

Do you do corporate events and invoicing?

Yes. Meetings, holiday parties, training days and appreciation dinners. We invoice on company terms, provide a W-9, and there are TV screens and WiFi for presentations.

Is there a security deposit?

A $300 refundable damage deposit, returned within seven business days after your event as long as the venue rules were followed.

What does it take to hold my date?

A $500 retainer holds the date and is applied to your balance. It is not refundable, because holding a Saturday means turning away everyone else who wanted it. Half the balance is due 60 days out, the rest 21 days before.

How far in advance can I book?

We take bookings up to 18 months out. Popular Saturdays go first.

What is the minimum rental?

Six hours for every package except Ceremony Only, which is three. Setup and breakdown are ours, not yours, and they do not eat into your six hours.

Do you host repasts and memorial receptions?

We do, and we handle them with care and on short notice. Our kitchen has served repast meals for Orlando families for years. Call us and we will move quickly.

Can I see the room before I book?

Please do. Tours are by appointment so you get the room to yourself and our full attention. Request one and we will answer within four business hours.

Is there a minimum spend on weekends?

Friday and Saturday carry a $3,000 minimum total, which your rental, food, bar and add-ons all count toward. There is no minimum Monday through Thursday, and Sunday events starting after 4 PM are billed at weekday rates.

The venue

Is the venue accessible?

Yes. Ground floor throughout, step-free entry, accessible restrooms and accessible parking directly outside.

Can we serve alcohol?

Yes. Bar service is provided by the venue under our license, with licensed and insured bartenders. You can choose a cash bar, a beer and wine package, or a full open bar. Guests may not bring their own alcohol.

How many guests can The Edgewater Room hold?

We seat 100 guests at tables and hold up to 130 for a standing or cocktail reception. Most venues our size cap their decor packages at 75. We do not. Every package is built for 100 seated guests, and chairs are always included.

Are there decorations you do not allow?

No glitter, no confetti or powder-filled balloons, no tape on the floors, nothing affixed to the walls, and no hookah, smoke or open flame. Everything else is fair game. Ask us and we will usually find a way.

What time do events have to end?

Events end at midnight. You can extend to 1 AM for $150 an hour, arranged in advance.

Is there parking?

Yes, free on-site parking for your guests, with valet available as an add-on for larger events.

Can I bring my own DJ, photographer or planner?

Absolutely. Bring your own, choose from our preferred vendor list, or let us handle all of it. Outside vendors load in during your rental window.

What is included in every package, even the smallest?

Tables and chairs for up to 100, an event host on site the whole time, setup before and cleaning after, the drape backdrop, house sound, WiFi, restrooms and parking. You never pay per chair here.

Food and drink

My guest count is higher than my package includes. What then?

You add guests at a set price rather than jumping to the next package. Food is $45 a guest, bar is $20, and a premium place setting is $10. Add only what you need.

Do you really cook the food yourselves?

Yes. We have a full commercial kitchen on site, shared with Bon Appetit Grill, our Haitian and Caribbean restaurant. Almost no event venue in Orlando can say that. It means your food arrives hot from twenty feet away, there is no outside catering delivery fee, and you can taste the menu before you book.

Can I bring my own cake?

Yes, and we do not charge a cutting fee. Most venues do. Bring your baker, or use ours.

Can I bring my own caterer?

You can. Our Gold package is built for exactly that. But before you do, ask us for a tasting. We cook Haitian and Caribbean food from scratch, our braises run twelve hours, and because the kitchen is on site you pay no delivery fee at all.

Do you offer tastings?

Yes, for any package that includes food. We schedule tastings after the retainer is paid, and it is genuinely the best part of planning with us.

Weddings

Is there somewhere to get ready?

Yes, a private bridal suite is included in the Wedding Reception and Ceremony and Reception packages.

Can we hold the ceremony and reception in the same room?

Yes. Our team flips the room during your cocktail hour, so your guests never see it happen. That is included in both wedding packages.
