Short list, honestly explained.
Most venue rule sheets read like a warning. Ours is short, and every line has a reason attached, because you deserve to know whether a rule is protecting the room or just protecting somebody's convenience.
Yes, absolutely
- Outside vendors of any kind, at no extra fee. DJ, photographer, planner, decorator, baker.
- Your own cake, with no cutting fee.
- Ticketed events, with prior approval.
- Moving the furniture around to suit your layout.
- Live music, DJs and bands, indoors, until midnight.
- Candles in enclosed holders.
- Children, with an adult responsible for them.
No, and here is why
- Glitter, of any kind, anywhere
- It never comes out of the drape. This is the one we are strictest about.
- Confetti and powder-filled balloons
- Same reason. Balloon garlands and arches are welcome.
- Tape, nails or adhesive on floors or walls
- Ask us where to hang something and we will show you the rigging points.
- Hookah, smoke machines and open flame
- Fire code. Cold sparks are available as an add-on and are approved.
- Self-serve alcohol
- Every drink is poured by our licensed, insured bartenders. Bottles on the tables, coolers by the door and guests pouring for themselves put the licence at risk.
- Events of a sexual nature
- Not the room for it.
The practical bits
- Load-in and load-out
- Your vendors load in during your rental window. We cannot store items before or sign for deliveries on your behalf. Everything goes home the same night unless arranged in writing.
- End time
- Midnight. Extensions to 1 AM are $150 an hour and must be arranged in advance, not on the night.
- Noise
- All music indoors. We sit near residential streets and we intend to stay good neighbours.
- Damage deposit
- $300, refundable within seven business days. Broken rules come out of it, starting with a $250 cleanup charge for glitter or confetti.
- Bringing your own alcohol
- Allowed, on one condition: we provide the pouring service. Our licensed, insured bartenders serve what you bring, at $75 an hour or $140 an hour for a two-bartender team, arranged when you book. Bringing your own spirits adds a $1,000 spirits service fee. Beer, wine and champagne are also available from us.
- Security
- Required for ticketed events and any event serving alcohol past 10 PM with more than 100 guests. We can provide licensed guards at $350 for six hours.
- Smoking
- Outside only, in the designated area.
